    4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

    5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

    6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

    7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

    8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

    9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

    Thank you for all you are about to do to make our world and our country a better place for everyone. As we are counting on you, please feel free to count on me to support you in doing this very important work. We all have made promises. We have made promises to ourselves, to our children, to our ancestors and to our community and of course to God. It is time to fulfill those promises. Count me in.

    I promise to use my gifts and talents to better my community and inspire others to do the same. I will use 2009 to encourage our young people to become actively involved with their education, community, and within their houses of faith. I promise to be God’s ambassador and bring others to Christ with my poetry and gift of song. I also promise to work hard within Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc to increase our programs that change our communities and promote public service.

I promise to continue to help young Black athletes make informed decisons, lead victorious lives, and achieve life sustaining results and I promise to conintue to attempt to work with other like-mined Black professionals to capture our fair share of the $300 billion per year sports industry…an industry built on the back of the young Black athlete but which has systematically excludled the Black professional from any meaningful participation and, as a direct consequence, the Black community.
