WASHINGTON D.C.– Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) released the following statement after meeting with representatives from the Department of Defense regarding the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) suspension of Cleveland based employees.

“DFAS indicated that it intends to proceed with the termination of up to 33 employees in Cleveland and Columbus. However, at my request, they also agreed to meet with my staff and further review some cases,” said Congresswoman Fudge. “I am not convinced DFAS evaluated the ‘whole person.’” Under DFAS’ guidelines an employee’s personal credit history carries more weight than years of dedicated service to our government. Procedure trumped common sense. It’s not over. I will continue to fight for all employees to be treated fairly.”
