REP. FUDGE: Statement on President Obama’s Joint Session Address

WASHINGTON, DC– Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) made this statement in response to the President’s speech to the joint session of Congress tonight:

“The American people want to see progress on jobs, and tonight the President showed leadership and initiative. I believe this is the direction in which we need to take our country. It’s time we put partisanship aside. I’m hopeful we will come together and pass this legislation,” said Rep. Fudge.

“It’s imperative that we extend unemployment benefits to those who are suffering the most, while instituting programs with innovative work-based reforms. The President is right on the mark. We need tax relief for our workers and for our small businesses. It’s vital to support both our small and medium size businesses, and make sure they have the capital and resources necessary to sustain and grow.”

“I support the President’s infrastructure plan, which would put Americans to get back to work now. Whether you are a Democrat or a Republican, all of us have crumbling schools and bridges in our districts. We all have constituents eager to get back to work.”
