IMPORTANT Election Law Changes for 2011

(1) All residents must request an absentee ballot. They are not sent automatically to voters this year. You can download a request form here: http://www.sos.state.oh.us/sos/upload/elections/forms/11-A.pdf.

The deadline to request a ballot is before noon on November 5.

(2) Postage is NOT prepaid this year. This year, Cuyahoga county’s ballot is long and requires extra postage. It costs 64 cents (a 44-cent first class stamp is not enough). Voters can also drop off their ballot at the Board of Elections on or before November 7. Ballot applications returned to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections by mail must be postmarked by November 7.

(3) Secretary Husted announced that early in-person voting will end at 6pm on the Friday before Election Day. There will be NO early in-person voting available the weekend before Election Day (November 5 and 6). Voters can still cast their ballot early during the two final weekends of October. On Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
